Ex-UFC Fighter War Machine, Arrested

UFC Fighter Busted - Assault with Deadly Weapon

Several San Diego police swarmed in on former UFC bad boy War Machine last night and threw a spit bag on his head after cops say the dude assaulted someone with a deadly weapon.

TMZ has learned Machine — which is the fighter’s legal name — was arrested outside a bar called Thruster’s Lounge around 11 pm.

Law enforcement sources tell us Machine and another male were fighting with bouncers — and when cops tried to approach the situation, War Machine took off running.

Eventually, cops caught up with the 28-year-old, threw him in handcuffs, and for some reason, put a spit bag over his head … which is generally applied when the perp gets a little too aggressive with his oral fluids.

Machine was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon — though it’s unclear what the weapon is. He’s currently being held in a SD jail.

UFC 111 Had A Couple Of Headaches

Posted in Cage Coverage, MMA News Worldwide, Pictures, UFC News, Videos on March 30th, 2010 by CageCoverage

Kurt Pellegrino head plants Camoes

At UFC 111 Fabricio Camoes took Kurt Pellegrino‘s back, and locked in what appeared to be a definitive rear naked choke. Batman then executed a defense not taught in gi class – he dove forward, with their combined weights driving Camoes straight onto his head. In the next round Pellegrino returned the submission favor, ending it with a 65k winning submission of the night rear naked choke.

“To be honest with you, he was completely knocked out. He froze. I turned around  and his eyes were rolled in the back of his head. He was like frozen and stuck on me. When I was able to get around, I thought they were going to stop the fight. When I turned around, he was out. By just me hitting him a little bit, it kind of woke him up.”

“It was the weirdest thing,” said Pellegrino.

Palhare did not release his hold after Tomasz Drwal tapped out

Rousimar Palhares: (through his interpreter and manager Alex Davis)
“I had no intention to hurt Tomasz. I never have; I am not like that.”
“Unfortunately, there have been cases in the past where guys have tapped and then said they hadn’t tapped. This happened in a match in the UFC between my trainer, Murilo Bustamante, and Matt Lindland. Our attitude is to hold the position until the ref interrupts to avoid this happening to us again.”
“I did not think the suspension was fair. I did not have any intent of hurting Drwal. It was in the heat of battle, and I wanted to make sure I did not lose the position. I was just waiting for the ref to interrupt the match.”
