Posted in Cage Coverage, MMA News Worldwide, UFC News, Videos on December 11th, 2009 by CageCoverage

UFC president Dana White confirms that Houston Alexander does not have a future in the UFC after his dismal performance against Kimbo Slice at last weekend’s TUF 10 Finale.

A note from Houston Alexander

Next step?

December 8th, 2009

Hats off to Kimbo. I went in there with a game plan, tried to execute that game plan and came up short. Kimbo came out on top.

Thanks to the UFC for making the fight happen.

Thanks to all my fans and friends. I have been getting a lot of messages from people asking what’s next?

I am back in Omaha training already. The night after the fight I went back to Power 106.9 in Omaha and hosted my radio show.

I now look to get back into the gym and train for my next fight.  It’s too early to know when or who I’ll be fighting but I assure you…. I will be back!

Clay Guida Asked For Fight With Kenny Florian

Posted in Cage Coverage, MMA News Worldwide, UFC News on December 9th, 2009 by CageCoverage

Chicks dig “The Carpenter”

“The win over Kenny Florian separates me from the rest of the pack. The lightweight division has a lot of depth and I think it puts me one of the top spots to fight the winner of BJ [Penn] vs. Diego [Sanchez], and maybe not immediately, but it definitely gets us right back in the mix. The loss against Diego wasn’t a terrible loss. Everyone who saw that fight knows it was maybe one that could have gone either way, and it kind of solidified me as a contender in the lightweight division.”??“As a matter of fact, as they were raising BJ’s hand [at UFC 101], I texted and called both Dana [White] and Joe Silva, and said ‘I want to fight Kenny.’ So we sought out this fight immediately. We had to wait, unfortunately, a couple months after the fight for ours, but this was the fight I wanted to bounce back from after the close loss to Diego.”

UFC’s Paul Daley Upset Condit Pulls Out Of Fight

Posted in Cage Coverage, MMA News Worldwide, UFC News on December 9th, 2009 by CageCoverage

Carlos Condit has withdrawn from his UFC 108 fight with Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley after suffering an injury in training. The fight was removed from the UFC website in the early hours of Wednesday morning and Daley confirmed the news in a post on the UG.

“I’d [accept] any fight.. I just wanna fight. Condit is a big pussy IMO, I have inside information on that dude….it’s all good as long as I fight,” he wrote, a comment that is sure to enrage former WEC welterweight champion Condit.??A source close to Daley said the British welterweight is under the impression Condit had not begun a proper training camp, and is questioning how long Condit had known he would not be fighting. “Paul has spent a shitload of money on this training camp out of his own pocket, and his team have bought non-refundable tickets to go out to the US for the fight so hopefully Paul gets another opponent for this card, he is really pissed off,” the source said. ??In his post on The Underground, Daley went on to appeal to UFC matchmaker Joe Silva for a new opponent, suggesting a couple of names he would like to fight. “Koshcheck…is a tough motherf*cker, but I accept the challenge. Hazellet has sick subs, and is dangerous, but I accept that fight too. Any top level fighter in 170lbs with a winning record. Joe make it happen.”
